So it’s another rainy day and frantic couples are calling the studio concerned with the days forecast and how it will affect their photographs.
Nothing new in the wedding industry and nothing to worry about for the husband and wife to be, as the show must and will go on!
The rainy day can add a favorable wrinkle to what to may appear like a cloudy gloomy day and even become fun for the couple producing great images.
There are many rainy day shots which can capture the wedding day with absolute beauty with both posed and candid shots; all you need are one part creativity and one part planning.

From the sneaked kissed by the groom behind the umbrella, to the sweat gesture of love, as the groom holds the umbrella for his bride, the rainy day shot can leave you with unique memories only created by Mother Nature.
Our studio photographers always carry a bag of “tricks” with them and among those items is an umbrella. Pock-a-dot, checker board, black, white or any other pattern, looks great in black and white images, regardless of the color selected by the bride.
In addition you should always know your reception location will be beautifully appointed and a great place for formal photos.

Be sure to discuss rainy day shots with your photographer if you’re anticipating rain. Discuss some of the props you may like to use, so on the day of wedding you are not having “rainy day blues” but planned out artistic shots, which are anything but the ordinary.
If you have rainy day shot ideas, I would love to hear them and will make every effort to showcase these images at a later post.
